The traditional 7th anniversary gift is copper, so we’ve named our 7th anniversary ale “Cuivre” which is “copper” in French. Taking notes from Brown Ale’s British roots, the beer picks up a strong American accent through its firm hop character and roasty palate. A blend of six malts takes center stage, giving the beer its deep russet-brown color and complex flavors. Hints of cocoa, your favorite coffee, and caramel swirl beneath a delicate dry-hopped veil of dark fruity aromas. April 2013 we inked a deal with ArtPrize that made us the official brewery of the competition for the next five years. The premier leadership sponsorship deal included offering our beer at all official ArtPrize events, signage, promotion, merchandise, specialized glassware and other items. It also included permission for us to use the ArtPrize identity marks (logo and graphics) on any co-packaged items, including beer. We plan to release a new beer for each year of our five-year partnership with ArtPrize under the name “Artist Series”. This is year two. Turns out, both. At the same time. || Lagunitas New Dogtown Pale Ale, American Pale Ale – 6.2% ABV – 65.0 IBU Lagunitas Brewing Company, Petaluma, CA. We took our original brew – DogTown Pale Ale – and hybridized it with the Kill Ugly Radio, a 22oz seasonal we released commemorating the 40th anniversary of the release of Frank Zappa’s second album. The flavor was too good to let float in the abyss, so we revamped our original recipe and never looked back. || North Coast Old Rasputin, Russian Imperial Stout – 9.0% ABV – 75.0 IBU North Coast Brewing Co., Fort Bragg, CA. Produced in the tradition of 18th Century English brewers who supplied the court of Russia’s Catherine the Great, Old Rasputin seems to develop a cult following wherever it goes. It’s a rich, intense brew with big complex flavors and a warming finish. || OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale, Specialty Wood-Aged Beer – 7.2% ABV Stone Brewing Co., Escondido, CA. To celebrate the first anniversary of Arrogant Bastard Ale in 1998, we unleashed its big angry brother, Double Bastard Ale.
